VARS Technology has recovered more than £3.5 million in stolen fuel costs for retailers, while preventing millions more in drive-off losses before they happen. An advanced ANPR system detects vehicles that have previously stolen fuel as soon as they enter a site, allowing staff to prevent fuel being dispensed. Forecourts using the ANPR system are protected from a shared national blacklist of over 72,000 vehicles. When fuel theft or no means of payment incidents do happen, VARS pursues drivers for the full value of the fuel on behalf of their forecourt customers. New drive-off or NMOP incidents can be reported in less than two minutes, allowing staff to focus on providing quality service to customers rather than filling in lengthy paperwork.
VARS can also manage and monetise parking on-site, ensuring that spaces are kept available for paying customers. This includes management of EV charging bays, with the system able to detect non-EV vehicles or EVs that aren’t actively charging. VARS Technology’s range of solutions now also includes facial recognition, a powerful anti-crime tool that detects individuals previously reported for theft or aggressive behaviour and notifies staff as soon as they enter the premises.
